The Djayangsekars Corps

  The Djayangsekars Corps The Djayangsekars Corps or The Corps Djayangsekars, is a native police force that were formed in the 1st September 1808 on the order of daendels during the reorganization of the East Coast of Java. This corps were armed with Carbines, Flintlock and sabres, the corps duty was to maintain and enforce the laws of the east indies government in several residents in java, the corps was mentioned in the Great Post Road project, where the corps was garrisoned in tegal uniformed with blue hat (?) . Native Auxiliary Forces of the British Army in Java and the East Indies (1811-1816)

Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, Lieutenant Governor of Java Following the capture of the east indies by the British forces, several Dutch units were transferred to the British service such as the Prangwedanan Legion. they also formed several native units especially in Java, here are the list of the native auxiliary units served in Java and some other islands: -Prangwedanan Legion Prangwedanan Legion also known as the mangkunegaran legion, raised in 1808 as a dutch auxiliary force in the east indies. Following the British capture of java, the legion were disbanded, but were reformed by raffles as an auxiliary unit to the British Army in the 13th February 1812, the colonel itself were still the prince of mangkunegara the second which is prangwedana, the legion saw an action in the storming of the jogjan palace during 1812 with 500 men, the unit then serves the Dutch back, after the British handed back the east indies in 1816. Franco-Holland's Army in the East Indies (1806-1811)

Daendels with his retinue in the building of the Great Post Road across Java  I have managed to collect various sources regarding the army of the kingdom of Holland in the east indies (modern day Indonesia). Although the Dutch East Indies is now under French rule, daendels who was the field marshal of the kingdom of Holland was sent to Java to become the governor General, a major military reform Occurred in 1808 by Governor General daendels, he managed to raise an army of 19.000 men, of which 17.774 were consisted of natives and the rest 2.430 were europeans.  It is important to note that the natives were forced to enlist in the ranks, resulting of their bad performance in the battlefield, desertions is very common among the men, and it is unlikely that these men would stand strong after the british's first volley.  Uniform There is almost no record of the regimental uniforms that daendels raised, though the Württembergisches Kapregiment had a kaskett helmet and a dark blue coatees
